Outreach Service
The outreach service supports women experiencing domestic abuse who are living in the community rather than in refuge. Staff can meet women at a safe and prearranged venue to provide support and information. This can assist them to cope better with their situation should they wish to remain at home or living in other temporary accommodation. The service also supports them through the transitional period while they await their own tenancy.
Follow on
A flexible follow on service is provided for all women and children leaving refuge or homeless accommodation who wish continued support when they are rehoused. EFWA also offers a women's support group that enables women to develop support networks: try new experiences, develop skills and confidence to help them move on from refuge and re-establish their lives in their new home and community.
Children & Young People's Service
This service offers children and young people who come into refuge,
and afterwards, through follow on, a dedicated service in their own
right. The main aim is to support their emotional and physical well
being and to ensure they have access to relevant service they need to
support their development into healthy resilient people.
The Service includes:
- One to One support
- Integration into their new communities (schools, health care, community activities)
- Group Activities & Holiday Activities
- Access to relevant services to support their emotional and physical well being
This support allows children and young people to explore and resolve the issues they have in relation to their experience of domestic abuse
in a safe and confidential environment.
